The mystery of evil does not have a specific treatment in Martin Luther, but it is through his many writings, such as Bible classes and commentaries, letters and sermons, advice and answers to questions raised by his contemporaries, that it is possible to redo his thinking on this issue. Very characteristic of his style is that, here like all the other subjects he deals with, he avoids all rational and philosophical treatment, in order to expose more clearly what, according to him, professes a Christian faith nourished only by Sacred Scripture.
