Abstract

This article offers a critical analysis of the politicization of intimacy, examining how subjectivity, the body, emotions, and lived experience become vehicles of political expression. Drawing on the theoretical contributions of Michel Foucault, Judith Butler, and Gilles Deleuze, it argues that intimacy is neither a private nor apolitical domain, but rather a space traversed by social norms, power relations, and technologies of governmentality. From the perspective of feminist, LGBTQ+, and decolonial struggles, as well as contemporary practices of testimony, autofiction, and digital activism, the article highlights both the subversive potential and limitations of intimate discourse: risks of commodification, emotional overexposure, and normative visibility. Intimacy emerges as a zone of tension between subjectivation, resistance, and self-exposure, where the very limits of the political are being redefined.
