Abstract

The human being has debated between what he has believed, believes, and will continue to believe; but, particularly about the existence of God, he does so at his convenience. When you look at nature or the universe you may wonder if it came from an explosion millions of years ago or is it God's creation? Philosophers, scientists, and ordinary people continue to search for answers to their questions. It is "the man in search of meaning as Victor Frank proposes, and adds that, ... there is in him [in man] an unconscious spirituality: the ignored presence of God". It is the human being who has decided to question, or radically deny, the existence of God, even more so when evil prevails in the world. You could not deny the existence of something, or someone, that does not exist. "No one denies God, but the one to whom it is not convenient that God exists" (Augustine of Hippo). “It is a new atheism confronting faith and reason” (Antonio Cruz). "The existence of God is self-evident" (Thomas Aquinas). “There must be an inexorable cause of the created… and that being would be God” (Aristotle). "My conscience is tied to the word of God" (Martin Luther). “… from the creation of the world they knew God, but they did not want to worship him as God or give him thanks. Instead, they began to invent foolish ideas about God” (Romans 1). “I am that I am” (Exodus 3:14), this is how God defines his own existence, believable and convenient.
