The main objective of this study is to analyze two variables –creativity and academic performance– in a sample of 156 university participants who were students on the Degree in Infant Education. The aim is to ascertain whether the variables are related in any way. Creativity was measured through the Torrance Creative Thinking test, and academic performance through the grades awarded for a second year Degree course. Results confirm the theories of some authors who show that the variables correlate with a negative score (r=-.060) and not significantly. This would imply the use of other ways of assessing creativity or, after the end of the subject in which academic performance is measured, the assessment of creativity.
