Podcasts and moral education: giving a voice to the students

This essay examines a little-studied topic: the use of podcasts in the fields of moral and civic education, values education or character education. In first place, it summarizes the available literature about educational podcasting (benefits, main genres, production, etc.). Then it analyzes two complementary strategies for applying podcasts to moral education: to emphasize the contents, and to emphasize the processes. Special attention is devoted to the latter, stressing the importance of the active participation of pupils as podcasters or content creators, in accordance with the peculiar challenges of each educational level.
