Abstract

The purpose of this reflection article is to present an update on the role or leading role referred to lactate metabolism according to the energy pathways in terms of its transport and cellular production. Methodology: a review of the literature was carried out, to represent the mitochondrial adaptation, together with the lactate flow between the cells and the tissue beds, which allows an adequate interpretation of the energetic substrates present in the organism when performing physical efforts or practice of physical activity. Results: it is established that glycolytic lactate is produced and consumed in the cells and that it provides a net release of lactate in the resting muscle, followed by a greater release and absorption change during exercise, being inadequate to reduce the metabolic activity present in exercise to aerobic or anaerobic terminology. Conclusions: lactate acts by action and articulation of masses and cells that systematize the allosteric union; In addition, it allows the addition of a negative charge by the phosphate groups, uniting and attracting opposite charges of lysines in the oxidation of lipids; seeks to improve the capacity and tolerance to physical exertion, mitochondrial flexibility for adaptation, lactate being a source of healthy life.
