Abstract

In recent years in the western countries, also in Spain, women have left the private sphere and have developed professionally. Education, along with health, have been the professions in which they have consolidated labor most effectively. This irruption has had many positive aspects, mainly its empowerment and demonstration of its worth, although it has also been able to involve some dysfunctions, for example the significant inequality in the academic results in Primary and Secondary Education of Spanish students. In a complex and knowledge-based society, education is essential to facilitate the integration and employability of future citizens. The research deals with the academic results of Spanish students through the analysis of quantitative data from public bodies and relevant international reports.
