Challenges for rural education in Colombia in the use of information and communication technologies in time of pandemic and social isolation

This article aims to analyze the general panorama of the situation of rural education in Colombia, in times of pandemic and social distancing, this situation understood from the positive and negative implications generated by the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).) in the educational field. In this sense, this analysis was approached from components such as; Identify the measures taken by the National Government, the commitments and actions of the private sector, especially the one, whose purpose is to provide internet coverage, likewise, the infrastructure conditions of educational institutions in the rural sector, their internet coverage isolated sectors and the technological devices that students have or lack. Finally, it is concluded that there were various difficulties regarding the capacity and access to ICT by the students and that affected their learning processes at this time. In the same way, difficulties were identified regarding the management of ICT by the students. of teachers, which implied that it will affect the teaching processes that were taught in this period of pandemic and social isolation.
