The Bildung in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

This article seeks to explore, from the perspective of the philosophy of education, the implications that the mass dissemination of artificial intelligence may have on the educational concept of Bildung. To do this, we will first clarify the general features of Bildung. We will then connect it with the invention of artificial intelligence to answer the following (interrelated) questions: Has artificial intelligence rendered the concept of Bildung obsolete? Do we need to look for other things, perhaps new paradigms? Or can this German concept, coined in the 18th century, still tell us something relevant about education and pedagogy?
